DD 5 1/2 yo has decided she wants to watch this after watching it with her cousin, who's nearly 8.

Is it suitable for a 5 1.2 yo (year 1)? She's my pfb and I have kept her away from "grown up" tv as much as possible (no HSM, Hanna Montana, Mamma Mia etc).

I don't let my 7 year old any where near it.

To be fair, I have never watched an episode all the way through, or read any of the books, but 30 seconds of the actress pouting and rolling her eyes did it for me. I don't like the bolshy attitude she portrays and dd can be bolshy enough sometimes without external encouragement!!

That was my initial feeling, Stillchuckingit. I might try and watch one, just to be sure.

Of course she is fascinated by it as her cousin likes it, so I'll have a fight on my hands.

Tricky when it's seen as something exciting "older girls do". You never know, with any luck it might bore your dd!
