you have to have SKY or NTL or Telewest - I don't know the channel number on them but I can find out the NTL one?

....you have just proved to DH that there are also some really useful things on mumsnet !!!!!! Did you watch the history of motown that was on the beeb a couple of months back - it was fab.....Also big big fans of standing in the shadow of motown, the storey of the funky brothers (the music and energy of those performers moves me to tears as music does anyway ) DH is not a fan of soul in general but loves these "history" type things on music as he blass bass in a band and thinks the soul bass players are the best !!!! Thankyou...and I just looooooove the name !!!!

Yes - watch all the Motown stuff - loved the Funk Brothers one - even the modern singers were excellent - Joan Osborne was fantastic!

...really looking forward to this tonight....just come back from DH's "surprise" 50th birthday lunch that I organised and consumed rather too much red vino so only hope that I can stay awake 'til 10 !

..."if I didn't have no bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...." what a classic !!! really interesting to see what was going on in Stax at round about the same time as Motowm aroun d the black revolution time in the States and how themusic artists of the time saw it from their perspective...I really looove that era for music...my mum and dads influence with Motown and Jazz ringing out in our household when I was a kid!!!!!
