Neighbours- what the hell is wrong with Toadie?

Why is he blaming Libby for the guilty verdict?
After what Stef did to her she was actually prepared to risk jail by lying on the stand to help her friend.

This trial has turned him into a complete dick. Was I the only one cheering when Stef was found guilty btw? I mean Toadie's closing argument was ludicrous. She feels guilty enough because she killed her 'friend' so let's not punish her any further. Of course. Poor Stef.

It's turned in tot he Steph show. I am very much hoping that Steph goesto prison. Perhaps for eternity. She was pissed, wasn't she?

Hai1988 · 10/01/2011 17:46

She had a tiny amount of alcohol in her blood from drinking the night before, so she wasnt exactly pissed.

I am kinda annoyed i found out on youtube months ago what the sentence is

2shoes · 10/01/2011 17:47

toadie is skin and bones now

anonacfr · 10/01/2011 18:43

I don't think the alcohol was the only issue. She was totally irrational and nearly drove into a car on the way out of the car park.
She also seemed to be going way too fast, which is something the trial never addressed.

Is Libby going to get into trouble for lying under oath and 'betraying' Stef or is that going to just disappear?

Ah, I thought she was still laggered. Hai, feel free to PM me

anonacfr · 10/01/2011 20:40

You can find out on neighbours.com.au

Sorry once again ranting about Neighbours... Grin
I just don't get why everyone feels so sorry for poor Stef when she killed Ringo!!!!

And I'm sorry but Sam did do her job, however much they don't like her. If Libby had told the truth from the start Stef would have been convicted- the lie didn't cause the conviction, the fact that Libby knew Stef was a risk to others and tried to stop her but Stef chose to get on the bike anyway got her the guilty verdict.

moajab · 11/01/2011 16:57

The whole defense was totally muddled. One minute it was a diminished responsibility defense - Steph had post natal depression, wasn't thinking clearly and that's why the accident happened and the next it was not guilty, pure accident, no time to stop, could have happened to anyone. Libby was stupid to lie and Toadie was stupid not to check the facts and Steph was stupid to shut everyone out and deny herself any help after the baby was born.

cleanairplease · 11/01/2011 17:09

What I thought odd was that when Sam was saying "Steph slept with your husband" to Libby nobody thought to point out that he had been Sam's husband too.

2shoes · 11/01/2011 17:12

cleanairplease I thought that, why didn't Libby point that out?

wuggglemump · 11/01/2011 17:12

Ooooh, I know a big Neighbours spoiler if anyone is interested?

I knew about the verdict. I can't resist spoilers so looked it up ages agoBlush

Any Home and Away fans about?

purpleturtle · 11/01/2011 17:15

Please don't post a spoiler here, wuggglemump. We like our spoilers well signposted in the thread title.

Thanks. Smile

wuggglemump · 11/01/2011 17:19

Did you see Miles from H&A on The Wright Stuff this morning?
He's cut his hair and is unrecognisable, totally not the same person!

Oh, I also have a good H&A spoiler.

wuggglemump · 11/01/2011 17:46

PM sent anonGrin

DandyDan · 11/01/2011 18:12

Mugglewump, you could set up a Neighbours Spoiler Thread so you don't need to PM multiple people, and others can avoid it.

anonacfr · 11/01/2011 18:30

PM sent back wuggle Grin

Milngavie · 11/01/2011 18:40

Why was Steph allowed home before sentencing?

Silly me assumed a convicted person would be remanded until sentencing so they couldn't run away.

wuggglemump · 11/01/2011 18:43

I only have one spoiler, a spoiler thread would be a bit patheticBlush

Besides, I totally steal them from Digital Spy!

turnitup · 11/01/2011 18:50

The whole thing is just ridiculous.

Is Toadie really making out now that he had no idea Libby was covering for Stef and Libby did a very big U turn from hating stef one minute to lying in court the next.

anonacfr · 11/01/2011 20:02

Apparently Libby told him her revised version. What was ridiculous was the fact that the prosecution wasn't allowed to talk to defence witnesses- surely they would have had to share facts to try the case properly?
I don't get how Libby is out of trouble. She was shown to have lied in court and yet won't be charged?

OP posts:
ChickensAreFlyingUnderTheRadar · 12/01/2011 14:07

Haha! Yeeees!

turnitup · 12/01/2011 14:33

I gotta admit, I did feel a bit sorry for Stef today when she was saying goodbye to Charlie
