I love it, and I've gone all gooey over the advert that keeps playing on mumsnet.

HelenLG · 10/01/2011 10:13

I neer watched it last time as I was pregnant and didn't want to freak out, what makes it so good?

mummysmadhouse · 10/01/2011 13:28

Its fab, watching all those magical experiences of childbirth..whether it goes to plan or not ever birth still amazes me.

helen now youve had your baby be prepared to get emotional if you watch tonight Smile

I made dh watch the first series while i was pregnant and he says it gave him a great insight into how it really can be. Boosted his confidence no end, especially when he saw how dopey some of the partners were. Definitely worth a look of you're pregnant.

HelenLG · 10/01/2011 14:05

I would worry mummysmadhouse, I still cry at Rachels labour in Friends...

I can't wait either. Was pregnant when the first series was on, it didn't really scare me as knew I was having a cs. Absolutely loved Joy and her dh.

I made dh watch it before but he's not interested this time. Will give me time to blubber away on my own.

mummysmadhouse · 10/01/2011 15:12

I was pregnant too but didnt really bother me as you can never know how your labour can be so i didnt tend to compare..plus it was third baby so i was hoping it was going to go smoothly...and luckily it did!

May get slated for this but i was planning another homebirth last time if birth centre wasnt open...so actually let dd1 watch the really calm water birth they had on te first series..helped answer all those, how does the baby get out?' questions. DD was fasinated wanted to watch it over and over was really sweet Smile

mummysmadhouse · 10/01/2011 15:14

ps...my dh even said it made him want to do it all again when we watched the xmas one!

But did also say watching it was prob not a good thing for that very reason

Last series, I watched the first half pregnant and the second half in the middle of the night whilst feeding DS2! Something helped me in one of the early ones when they used the euphemism "baby's getting tired now" in the pushing stage - I knew that meant the heartbeat was dropping and that I only had a few minutes to get DS2 out before they started to talk about theatre. A few mins later and DS2 arrived- I got my VBAC :) so thanks OBEM!
