Corrie John/Colin story

I've restarted watching Corrie after many years and the only story I can't make sense of is the John/Colin story. Please can someone give me a quick summary. Thanks!

John was struk of from the teaching register because of what he did to Rosie (who seems to have forgotten all about it )

John took on Colin's name so that he could go back to teaching.

Colin found out and came round to deal with John.

John killed him.

Colin's mum turned up so John told her he'd moved to Canada.

John was a teacher but after he kidnapped and imprisoned Rosie Webster he lost his licence to teach. He stole Colin's identity in order to get a teaching job because he'd gone to live in new zealand (?) except the real colin came back, so john and the other woman teacher bumped him off (or thought they did, he vanished from the wheelie bin they put him in (I think, missed a couple of epsodies around that time). Colin then later killed the other teacher lady, because she was stalking her, just before the tram crashed and he made it look like she'd died in the accident. Her parents are now treating him like their long lost son in law and know nothing about Fizz and the baby.

So the real colin's mum is now terminally ill and john wants her to die because then she'll stop asking him where colin is.

I think that's about it!

John didn't bump Colin off. Colin had some sort of attack and collapsed on the carpet and died. They then panicked and hid the body.

John killed Charlotte partly due to self defence.

Charlotte appeared to be completely delusional and was bunny-boiling John and threatening to expose him to the police. She insisted he visited her regularly and was pressurising him to tell Fizz that he loved her (Charlotte) and was going to move in with her. She even induced him to her parents as her fiancé Colin. John keeps running in to Charlotte's parents at inconvenient moments.

Were they twins then? Did fizz's husband assault rosie? Am confused still!

ok here we go:

• John wasn't allowed to teach because of the Rosie kidnap/criminal record

• John was desperate to get back into teaching. His ex colleague Colin Fishwick hated teaching and decided to start a new life in Canada

• John stole Colin's identity and worked as a teacher (in sheffield?) as Colin Fishwick

• Charlotte (an ex colleague who always had a crush on John) ran into him at a training thing/conference and he had to tell her he was teaching under the guise of Colin Fishwick

• Charlotte used this info to stay close to John/make him visit her/be nice to her etc...

• Colin came back from Canada. Some thug came round to find "Colin" and beat up John as Colin was having an affair with his wife/gf. Fizz told the thug where Colin was. Thug found Colin and beat him up. Colin came round to see John, Charlotte came over and John confessed about using his name. Colin had some kind of attack and collapsed/died. John & Charlotte hid his body in the factory which was being renovated. The next morning the concrete lorry arrived and laid the floor. Colin is underneath so they got away with it.

• Charlotte started to become deranged/eaten up with guilt so John was keeping her close. Charlotte made him "go out" with her but nothing happened, John was just keeping her sweet. She introduced John to her parents as Colin, as her fiance

• Charlotte came over to John the night of the tram crash and she said she was going to confess (i think). In self defence he killed her. He dialled 999 then before he pressed go the tram crash happened. Fiz went into labour etc... he left Fiz (after the birth i think?) and moved charlotte's body to look like it was killed in the tram crash

• Charlotte was in hospital, he was going to finish her off but then her parents arrived. They all decided to turn off her life support.

• John keeps running into her parents at inopportune moments. He is "Colin, her fiance" to them

i think that is it............. for now

he didn't assault Rosie, they had consensual sex (Rosie seduced him iirc) and she was going to tell Fiz/get him arrested (i can't remember) so he locked her in a bedroom in his mum's house (she had died) for 5 weeks. he fed her etc, she was fine, well as fine as you can be locked in an attic bedroom for 5 weeks.

Ok he didn't assault her - but locking her in an attic for 5 weeks wasn't a particular nice thing to do!

How is it he still lives in the street after he kidnapped Rosie, this is what I hate about soaps, the next week they're all back to best mates!

The Websters' weren't happy about Fizz taking him back on the street but he convinced everyone he had changed.

So is Colin Fishwick dead then, for sure?

The Websters had a major hate campaign against him when he returned. Then Rosie visited him at his house, demanding money from him or she'd cry rape. He called her bluff. She went to the police: he was rearrested, Sally laid into Fizz etc.

Then major show down in The Rovers; John had Rosie repeat her allegations publicly, then demolished them equally publicly (centring on the front door having only a Yale-type latch lock so she couldn't have been imprisoned as claimed. Rosie had to retract her accusation, Websters generally shamed, rapprochement all round.

well i guess abouteve he could have got up from the factory before the concrete arrived in the morning, but i am pretty sure he was dead. blood coming out of his ears etc when he collapsed in the house. the body was heavy, they rolled him up in a rug then put him in a wheely bin. they were going to put him in the boot of the car but norris saw them so they then just hid the body in the hole in the factory floor. when john went the next morning to move it before the builders arrived the concrete was being poured in, no one had seen the body.

I hate this story line. It's ridiculously unbelievable and rather tedious imo.

I'm with auntyfash I'm sure the actor playing Stape must find the scripts utterly ridiculous!

I hate the story line too, utterly rediculous, and makes me want to change channel.

I also hate it. I just don't care enough about the character to give a toss tbh. Although I do like Fizz, and will feel bad for her when it all blows up

I have giggled tonight at John explaining to Mrs Fishwick about Colin -buried under the knickers factory indeed.

John didn't kill Colin. Colin collapsed and died.

Mrs Fishwick's collapsed and died now!
