Ooh yes wasn't it fab? I sniffled my way through it too.

Can't wait to see the next episode, but it didn't look too good for Hope in the trailer Sad

Thingumy · 03/01/2011 23:55

It was fab,I agree.

They are such incredible creatures (watched the polar bear one a few days back and fell in love with them too)

Fingers crossed for Hope ,I shall cry if anything detrimental happens.

Even the cat was watching it with great interestGrin

Have just told DH am off to Minnesota to become a Bear Whisperer!

This is the best TV I have seen in YEARS! Episode 1 is on iplayer now, 2&3 tonight and tomorrow at 9pm, BBC2. I promise you, you will cry. It's gorgeous, beautiful, moving, inspiring. Do not miss it.

BBC link here

My boys (11 and 13 - trying to be cool teenagers) absolutely adored every minute, as did dh and I.

roisin · 04/01/2011 18:27

Thank you Gordon. This alone is worth the licence fee. Fabulous tv.

NorbertDentressangle · 04/01/2011 20:24

I watched this last night and will be watching again tonight. It was fascinating and so moving.

I just couldn't imagine being that close to a bear and trusting them.

I bet there were times that the crew were petrified.

roisin · 04/01/2011 20:52

It's on in 8 mins people! Watch it!

ThatVikRinA22 · 04/01/2011 22:03

glad there is a thread on it - was just about to start one! just watched it again, am so glad that little hope is surviving.

tomorrows looks like it could get me mad, idiots out with guns...

tonights was lovely. arent they beautiful? totally different to how i thought they were.

ThistleWhistle · 04/01/2011 22:08

This is such a lovely programme, the best thing I have seen in ages. I had my hands over my eyes when the bear and her babies were crossing the road. DH keeps saying "it's me bear" and getting the accent just right, smug git, (I can't do it).

Thingumy · 04/01/2011 22:23

Wonderful again tonight.

I'm so pleased Hope is so far surviving without her mum,it's still quite heartbreaking though.

floweryblue · 04/01/2011 22:32

I just 'Hope' no-one starts saying 'PomBear'.

Am absolutely loving it but v v v worried about tears tomorrow (got the tissues handy tonight just in case), hope there won't be!

lazarusinNazareth · 05/01/2011 13:00

I held my breath when the bears was crossing the road! Hope is very beautiful. Smile Gordon Buchanan's voice is wonderful too Grin

ThatVikRinA22 · 05/01/2011 22:02

bollocks. i forgot about this tonight, is it on again does anyone know?

roisin · 05/01/2011 22:07

The first episode is repeated on Saturday. So the other ones might be too. Hang on will just check.

roisin · 05/01/2011 22:08

at the moment they've only scheduled a repeat of the first episode. But I'm sure they'll be up again.

ThatVikRinA22 · 05/01/2011 22:37

ohhhhhh, i really wanted to see tonights and i completely forgot. damn!

did it have a happy ending?

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 05/01/2011 22:40

fabulous program, I like my tv licence being spent on these things. well done BBC.

(sorry sounds like I am writing to TWC points of view)

Thingumy · 05/01/2011 22:41

There was one sad part to it but it left Lily and Hope well and the other bear family (Juliette?) were also well too.

OP posts:
ThatVikRinA22 · 05/01/2011 22:52

please tip me the wink on here if anyone sees tonights being repeated anywhere! thanks

floweryblue · 05/01/2011 22:54

phewwww!!! Had the tissues ready but they were not needed, well apart from snot mopping from sinking cold.

seeker · 05/01/2011 22:57

The bears are fab - but oh isn't Gordon a git!!!!

lazarusinNazareth · 06/01/2011 16:04

Vicar-try iplayer if you have access to it.
I'm so glad it ended up on a fairly positive note. I have no idea how anyone could shoot a bear in the face (or elsewhere ftm). Poor jim with his one eye and horrendous scars. Sad

ThatVikRinA22 · 06/01/2011 20:33

why didnt i think of iplayer!
