nobody gets on like her do they. i know it's a soap but tehy should at least be making her believable.

She's too vile to be believable!

she is but it was the conversation she just had at teh breakfast table about needing a man, infront of her mum, stepdad and brother.

She's one character on Corrie that really annoys me. I was relieved when she wasn't in it any more, and now I'm really mad they've put her back in.

Ah, TigerseyeMum! That must be it! That must be the reason why Soap children turn bad! They spend their whole lives upstairs and "washing their hands for dinner" then one day they come down with new heads and they've gone bad!

It's a combination of a BAD BAD BAD (ad infinitum) actress and the terrible moustache twiddling baddie crap they give her to say.

Tracey went through a period where she would whine "I want a puppyyyyyyyyyyyyy". Lack of puppy = moustache twiddling head bludgeoner.

The whole Tracy storyline is ludicrous, I can't get over the "plot twist" that got her out of prison in the first place, how likely is it really that someone who is inside for murder would be released just like that for any reason? I certainly hope that isn't realistic or the legal system is seriously screwed up.

I missed why she was released?

I think it's good she's back- means I won't be watching Corrie anymore so that's an extra half hour in my day!

She was released on bail pending retrial because the forensics expert who gave expert evidence at her original trial has been discredited and her conviction was no longer considered sound.

Presumably she'll be banged up again after the retrial, and is around now only to liven up New Year.

Will she survive the attack?

My money's on Claire....

She only has a 6 month contract....for now.

I don't watch Corrie but I take it Tracy has changed since she always used to go up to her room to listen to her tapes when Ken and Dierdre had another row about Dierdre's job with the council.

...and while you might be bailed pending a retrial, that doesn't just happen in a matter of minutes, she'd have had a few days of "oh, i might get released" infact, probably weeks, at at some point, considering her mother is supposed to have been visiting regularly, do you not think you'd have called your mum in an excited way to tell her this might happen, at least to make sure someone would be in at home when you got out?

The writing for TB is awful. There are a million ways they caould've done this better.

FPT: I agree. And I'm wondering why, as the case was not solely about the forensics - wasn't her defence "justified homicide" on trumped up DV, not "I didn't hit him" - she was bailed anyhow.

I've just defected to Corrie from EE over the baby storyline (I limit myself to one soap at a time) then they pull this TB shite

She has regenerated more often than Dr Who and she seems to lose more of her character each time and has become a charicature,

The actress who played Tracy Barlow back in the 80s and 90s is now an indie type DJ. She used to do a set at a local club called 'Tracey's Tapes'. Was v good!

Apparently she re auditioned for the part but they gave it to Kate Ford instead. To be honest, I thought the previous actress was very wooden and I prefer Kate in the part although I agree the character is completely unbelievable and some one would have brained her long before now.

Nobody released on bail pending retrial would be allowed to just walk in and take their child from the home they've lived in for 3 years, there'd be ss involvement surely?
