DH and I were pleased we didn't have to go anywhere this year; meant we could curl up and watch a couple of good films/Christmas specials, but it's all a load of bollocks.

Or is it just me?

Nope, it's been crap. Spent the last 2 days wandering around waiting for a good film to watch.
Still waiting......

McDreamy · 27/12/2010 21:04

Yup sales have been crap and tv crap too! (except for Come Fly with Me)

smellyfeet · 27/12/2010 21:04

It's been crap. So crap I am watching Friends on e4.

PressureDrop · 27/12/2010 21:05

No original (funny) comedies, sod all decent films. It's been utter shite.

YourCallIsImportant · 27/12/2010 21:05

Agree with you. I've watched Avatar 4 times since Christmas Eve.

Curiousmama · 27/12/2010 21:08

Absolute pants. Just glad we have a million dvds to watch. And lots of games to play. Did enjoy the Royle family though.

DullWomenHaveImmaculateHomes · 27/12/2010 21:50

It was rubbish, I don't think I've ever watched so many episodes of QI on Dave!

ProfYaffle · 29/12/2010 09:51

I thought it was crap too, though I seem to remember thinking that for the last few years. Very little original programming.

SlartyBartFast · 29/12/2010 10:01

there is never anything decent on at christmas.
bar dr who christmas special.

i enjoyed the goodlife last night though.
oh and March of the Penguins.

CybilScissorhands · 29/12/2010 10:03

I have enjoyed watching back to back reruns of Pride and Prejudice more than anyhting this Christmas...and how old's that for heavens sake?

that 'whistle and I'll come to you' with John Hurt was pretty scary though

SlartyBartFast · 29/12/2010 10:17

yes, whistle. was really atmospheric wasnt it.

whatkungfuthat · 29/12/2010 10:54

I've been saving that, may watch it tonight now!

TheLastMelon · 29/12/2010 11:30

All repeats and they show the same movies every year. Except why didnt they show the Snowman? :( Best thing i have watched is Just William on tv yesterday.

thumbplumpuddingwitch · 29/12/2010 12:26

Oh really? That makes me feel a bit better (sorry!) DH and I were just bewailing the shite Christmas tv in Australia and saying that it was one of the things that we missed about England, the number of films they put on over this 2 week period.
Sorry to hear they've buggered it up then.

I fear it is because of the cable/satellite channels nicking all the good stuff, no?

RockinRobinBird · 29/12/2010 12:29

I watched Uncle Buck three times in two days. I like the film, it's one of my guilty pleasures, but three times in 48 hours was pushing it. Please put something else on! :o

SpringHeeledJack · 29/12/2010 12:32

it has been soooo much worse than usual

...I spent it in two Sky households, so I thought there'd be some diverting twaddle on. There wasn't. It was all shite

vmcd28 · 29/12/2010 12:34

Thelastmelon, the Snowman was on channel 4. not on xmas day, but (I think) xmas eve or something.

TheLastMelon · 30/12/2010 12:17

Aah I missed it then! Love the Snowman :)

bacon · 30/12/2010 18:19

Worst ever! Royle family was poor once again think they should drop it now!

Enjoyed Top gear, 3 men in a boat thing, and the odd family film, oh yes, the bob geldof film was ok too.

Channel 4 are just showing old films, nothing original at all.

Really really poor.
