Hi, could some kind Wallander fan fill in some gaps in my gaping knowledege please?! I haven't watched for a while but tuned in last night to a completely different Swedish actor playing Kurt, no Linda and an assortment of different Detectives that I've never seen!

a looooooooooooong time ago, there were some episodes made before Kristar whathis face and Johanna Sallstrom took over in 2003

Last night was a film version and completely separate to the fabulous Swedish TV version with Kristar Henriksson.

According to my Radio Times, the main actor was Rolf Lassgard and there are another 4 of these coming on BBC4.

I'm not sure about this interpretation of Kurt to be honest, but I'll give it time .

Ah, thank you! That makes sense as I didn't see any familiar faces. I love Wallander, the acting and all the sub-plots are fab.

these are the "old" films based on the novels by Henning Mankell.
the newer ones with Linda are "only" based on that character.
