Am I missing something? Is it just because of his throat? What's going on

I like Matt's voice but he's out of tune quite often which really makes me cringe.

Rebecca should win.

I don't think he's very good - for me he fits into the 'whiny' genre.

If he wins I don't think he'll have much longevity. Shayne Ward hasn't done great and he was more appealing imo.

Now that Cher is out, of the three acts left I would back One Direction.

Was beginning to think there was something wrong with my television as when Matt sings I hear an off-tune screech that makes my ears hurt while the rest of the nation apparently hears something else entirely! He's awful! Don't understand why so may people fancy him either and his little thumbs up/mock praying gestures drive me nuts!
Love Rebecca- agree she lost it a bit with CA, but thought CA was actually a bit OTT shouty. Rebecca's the only one likely to have any longevity as she has such a distinctive voice. Would have loved to see her being a bit more funky/disco throughout the competition. Cheryl not paying her enough attention. Looking forward to Single Ladies tonight! Will she actually dance??

popstar He is a middle-of-the-road singer. The boy band, though not to my taste, are at least good at what they do so it would be no real injustice if they were to win, but Rebecca is simply sublime.

I dont think singing matters on X Factor

My Dc's have decided to mount a Mon the Biff campaign to get the original Biffy Clyro to number 1 over the xfactor version.
Does anyone know why they changed the name of the song?

For me Matt stood out at the auditions. According to X Factor he won the public vote almost every week.

I would have preferred Rebecca to win though - simply because I think that Matt may have the talent to be more than another X Factor winner. Particularly if he can write his own material. Not sure how much control he will have over his career with Cowell around.
I do however have a major problem with him releasing a Biffy cover. Don't mess with the Biffy! Much as I like Matt I may have to consider joining Bruffin jnrs Mon the Biff campaign!

Oh, thank fuck for this thread, I though I had lost the use of my ears! Matt sounded out of tune every week to me, but I figured it was me hearing wrong since everyone seems to love him so.

Anyone else miss Simon actually telling the contestants when they sounded like crap. Since when is he Mr Nice Guy? Removes the whole point of X Factor for me. If there ever was a point.....

Annie, this is why I hated x factor this year - Louis begged us to vote for every act, Cheryl turned into Simon's lapdog (or vice versa), and Dannii was the only one who gave an honest opinion but got criticised for it! Ridiculous.

I am watching the X Factor series in France via downloads and am loving it.

Yes Matt is out of tune a bit isn't he, but I do agree he sung best when he sang "Just the Way You Are" - its a great song and he did it justice.
I think Rebecca is amazing and yes she is timid and young in some ways, but definitely has the killer voice!
I look forward to buying her albums as I am sure she will get an offer for a record deal!

Have enjoyed watching the series though and do agree that Simon's now the wearer of baggy pants as he is a totally boring judge! Go Danni Minogue though - she is a fellow Australian who did voice her opinions and I agreed with her most of the time.
