Am in floods of tears over 12 year old being hanged and his last night with his mum. I feel more emotional over this than ever could over any sleb fest it was really horrible I kept on waiting for the happy ending and realised they were going to be lifelike....

They shouldn't show things like this after the watershed!

[cry]

And his sweet ears...

missymousie · 06/12/2010 18:13

Oh wolfbrother and candy canes thank you so much for writing - it was dreadful I welled up at "the sweet ears" all over again.

Definitely has my vote for most emotional TV moment of the year - my ds is 9 and it made you imagine......

Off to watch Strictly-X-Celebrities to erase the memory and get back to hard-nosed self!

Oh yes it was just awful. DH and I just sat there and neither of us dared say anything...

all the tedious Sir Arthus Hill stuff just paled into insignificance.

And they made him ride in the SAME CART as the you know what...

HOWL

c0rns1lk · 06/12/2010 19:49

that sounds awful! didn't watch it - is it based on fact?

candycanes · 06/12/2010 19:52

i believe so

begonyabampot · 06/12/2010 22:29

'the good old days'! This was so sad, i wanted someone to save him at the last minute. Very upsetting, and keep thinking about it.

So glad I read this. Have it recorded but going to delete it now. I can't cope with things like that.

Only just discovered Garrow's Law two weeks ago. It is wonderful. Garrow is wonderful. I love his slightly clipped accent. And Merchant Ivory man as a villain! I too was in tears. And the lines from "Handel" Messiah too the mother spoke as she said goodby, (presumably from Bible Blush?) so that you felt how everyone lived and breathed despite it being so long ago..I loved all the 18th construction of sentences, vocab etc.. Makes you realise how most of Merlin is written in modern speak Grin
And I loved the sheer contrast between beautiful classical buildings, intellectual thoughts, fine manners, silk clothes, wigs and absolute knife-edge on which most people lived, corruption, in power of others etc etc.

And so romantic too [sigh]

i think she is still fighting for the baby and Hill has it. Also, I wonder if he might now start to believe her and might accept that the baby is his so might want to hang on to him as his heir.

KangarooCaught · 09/12/2010 18:26

RL Garrow brought up her son as his own, afair.

begonyabampot · 09/12/2010 18:52

Kanga - possible spoiler there if that's the storyline - prefer to see it unwind as I watch it.
