Kanga, hope you don't mind me butting in on your job , but this looks really good.

It's a 2 part drama about Elizabeth the First, starring Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons.

I like all her work and anything historical, so TV heaven for me!

Beware though-I went to a lecture by David Starkey yesterday and he said that he had been an advisor and had to make them make the "hang,draw and quarter"bit-more realistic and gory-sounded revolting!

there are some parts with artistic license that they have taken

sort of changed history but they say it is a drama not a history lesson

Oooh, I thought it was ever so good. Looking forward to next week's. Dh thinks I'm a sicko 'cos I laughed when the man held his severed hand up. The evisceration stuff was a bit grim though.

Wasn't it brilliant? I had about 1 million things I planned to do last night but made the fatal error of starting to watch this. Helen Mirren superb and Jeremy Irons, whom I usually find annoying, excellent too. Loved the interiors and the violence too!
