Confused.

Sorry, at the end of Alias S1 it becomes ace. And all the following series are fab. With a satisfyingly grizzly ending!

lucykate · 22/11/2010 20:22

yes, the island was real, the purgatory began when it split, and there were 2 timelines going, one on the island, and one back in LA.

hugglymugly · 22/11/2010 20:36

The ending, in my opinion, was a mess. I think what annoyed me the most was that there were people comparing Lost with the X-Files in terms of how they'd wrap up the series. The Lost producers said that their final episode would explain everything. They even negotiated the end date some two(?) years earlier, as opposed to the X-Files which got renewed year on year.

I loved Lost, as I did X-Files, but I wouldn't bother buying Lost DVDs. In various places on the internet, XF still gets mentioned, Lost - hardly ever these days.

Speedy - I'm interested in your recommendation for Alias, if its better than Lost I'll give it a go.

I think that the Lost producers backed themselves into a corner when they said right from the start the it would be a 6 season story and then they lost part of one season to the writers strike and so had to rush it all at the end.

SpeedyGonzalez · 22/11/2010 21:30

Yes, do, sam. It's got some fab acting in it and we really missed the characters once it was all over. Think it's about 4 series, lots of good mystery and some great lines.

And I really would rate Battlestar above all of them - if you're anti-sci fi (like me) cast your prejudices aside! Grin

This is Gillian Fuckin McKeith all over !! When she doesn't get her own way she threatens legal action!
Oh Do FUCK OFF!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 22/11/2010 21:51

Shit wrong thread!

Rumpel · 22/11/2010 21:56

I thought the final episode was utter kak too! What a waste of hours of my life watching with anticipation for that - so many questions not answered at all.

SpeedyGonzalez · 22/11/2010 21:56

Arf at hobnobs!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 22/11/2010 22:00

Sorry Guys!
As before!

samcrow · 22/11/2010 22:15

speedy - I'm not anti SF but I thought Battlestar Galactica was along the lines of Star Trek which I just don't get at all.

SpeedyGonzalez · 22/11/2010 22:19

Really? How much of it did you watch? I can't bear Star Trek. Though I did enjoy the film.

SpeedyGonzalez · 22/11/2010 22:20

hobnobs - would that slapped arse be pre- or post-colonic? Grin

samcrow · 22/11/2010 22:22

Oh no, I haven't watched it at all, I've just always thought that was what it was like - not sure why.

I think it must be the name, I assumed it was the name of some kind of spacecraft, is that wrong as well ? Smile

SpeedyGonzalez · 22/11/2010 22:27

Ah, I see. Yes, I thought the same, then watched it when DH was already halfway through, and it took me about 10 mins to get hooked!

It is the name of the spacecraft, but it really isn't what you'd think of as a techy-heavy sci-fi show. I'm sure there is a lot of tech stuff in it (DH would probably say there is) but there's so much 'proper' drama in it that the tech stuff doesn't spoil it one bit.

samcrow · 22/11/2010 22:30

OK then I will give it a go, do you know if its on any terrestrial channels at the moment?

SpeedyGonzalez · 22/11/2010 22:45

Um, I doubt it as it was on about 3 years ago I think...
