I just don't get it. Is it just me?
I'm talking about the "You Should Be Dancing" one.

The clip with Peter Kay dancing in a red checked shirt - is it meant to be so badly done? It's clearly not him dancing, but he goes from being thin to fatter to thin again, all in that few seconds. And his head is very obviously superimposed on the body. But why does it look as if the other two dancers' heads are also superimposed?

Then there's the black and white clip of the three women in lingerie (also with badly superimposed heads). Are they meant to be Twiggy? I say it's Twiggy's face, dh looked at me as if I was mad.

If anyone can explain the advert to me, then please do!!

Peter kay has a body double for the dancing bit, yes, but I see no superimposing of heads at all.

Don't see anything superimposed on the lingerie women either (and no, they're not supposed to be twiggy!)

Confused Grin

I just think it all looks really badly done. It's like their faces are too bright in those two bits, compared to everything else, or the heads move a bit oddly compared to their bodies.
And the fat/thin/fat thing is just weird. We KNOW it's not him, but couldn't it have been edited/produced better?

i thought the same thing op def a superimposed head - i don't get it is it supposed to be funny? doesn't make me want to buy anything from there and its all not very christmassy is it?

Whitershadeofpale · 17/11/2010 17:29

THe bit in the lingerie is supposed to be a take off of the Beyonce Single Ladies video. The also take off Chicago, Caberet and Grease.

sharbie · 17/11/2010 17:30

and vogue as well

FairyArmadillo · 17/11/2010 17:31

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the Go Compare Man in there too? In the black and white bit with Twiggy?

sharbie · 17/11/2010 17:40

surely that would be pk too?

vmcd28 · 17/11/2010 18:01

I get that they're sending up films/videos, but in the Beyonce bit, whose face is it? If it's NOT Twiggy, then what's with the smug/knowing look at the camera? And if it's not anyone we're meant to recognise, what's the point?

And why couldn't they have come up with more up-to-date things to send up? I mean, Chicago? Vogue? Really? That's the best they can do?!

Fairy, that's peter kay too, being "amusingly" camp.

It seems the beyonce bit is a Victoria's Secret model I've never heard of. Still think the face is like a younger Twiggy.

Saw the advert about five times last night, and find it really grating. Those superimposed heads, aaargh!
