its officially the worlds' longest pregnancy Smile

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 04/11/2010 17:05

Yey!! It was the highlight of my day :) (2 sick dc and a loopy dog) I'm rewatching life of mars at the moment too so its a John Simm love in at the moment- dh is concerned what recent birth has done to me Grin

stainesmassif · 04/11/2010 18:59

Yes and apparently Philip glenister's in another episode. Daytime telly is just not that good. Mind you, I had diagnosis murder on after.....

I think the pregnancy might seem long cause it's been a bit of a whingefest! Love the end result, not a fan of the process...

sharbie · 04/11/2010 21:49

hmmmmmmm it was ok

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 04/11/2010 21:55

I know I know, but i was having a shite day, so it really was my highlight Wink whilst playing trains and settling LO.

sharbie · 04/11/2010 21:58

Smile yh it was ok tonight too as there wasn't much on tv

felt a bit sorry for the ugly bloke though - he didn't really stand a chance against js did he?

stainesmassif · 04/11/2010 22:06

Didn't you recognise the ugly bloke? He was the one from trainspotting who took a load of speed for an interview. I did say it ended up quite ordinary, but for daytime viewing it was quite a treat. I can't find anything to watch this evening either.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 04/11/2010 22:07

Not a chance, especially as he did his cute shy smile thing

sharbie · 04/11/2010 22:07

spud? staines

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 04/11/2010 22:08

No I didn't- but then I some how missed that js was in human traffic (or maybe I was trying to blank that film from my memory?!)

sharbie · 04/11/2010 22:10

now i like js but he does just really play the same role each time doesn't he??

i liked that moneylender thing he was in years ago

TheCrackFox · 04/11/2010 22:21

They had Jenny Agutter (sp?) on yesterday, playing a 60 yr old woman who felt she was ugly and fat and started having lots of plastic surgery to compensate. It was hilarious, Jenny Agutter is bloody gorgeous and it made the whole story line unbelievable.

stainesmassif · 05/11/2010 06:40

Well done sharbie! Spud. Thank you. Pg brain.
What's wrong with human traffic? That is 'the weekend has landed' isn't it? I must've watched that about 10 times at the time and fancied him in that too. (obvs I can se now that it was drivel).

OP posts:
AllOverIt · 05/11/2010 06:54

The other 'Moving On's have been much better. Even though it had JS in it, I couldn't get over the fact that Spud lost his family and his job. Maybe that makes it more realistic as shit happens to nice people all the time....

It was directed by Dominic West too.... was expecting it to be better...

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 05/11/2010 07:12

Staines-it could be my memory, I watched it trying to spot a girl from school in it one drunken evening, so perhaps not the best critic!

Still, better than bargain hunt or whatever other soul destroying shite was on.

stainesmassif · 05/11/2010 07:56

I luuurved human traffic at the time, esp 'nice one bruv'. My only defence is that I was in my 20's.
So, moving on, produced by jimmy McGovern, directed by Dominic west, how did it end up so pedestrian? I found the end particularly cheesy, spud watching the family from a distance - how the tables are turned etc etc.
I say all this, but it was still better than diagnosis murder.

OP posts:
sharbie · 05/11/2010 08:12

yh and she was slightlyyyyyyyyyy overacting

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 05/11/2010 08:25

I think the problem is trying to depict gritty drama midafternoon- they pull their punches so it begins to resemble an article in "chat" or "readers digest" rather than the quality it would be over 2 hours in the evening with full characterisation etc etc.

I guess it's true for most tv- it's made for the lowest common denominator, how ever fantastic the cast is.

stainesmassif · 05/11/2010 10:13

I think you've hit the nail on the head seashells! Am going to watch rest of series on catch up tv however.
Sharbie - I think the actress is a jimmy McGovern fave - I remember her from a good cracker and she was a bit ott in that too.
