Dispatches - homeless teenagers

Disclaimer - I'm in a foul mood, because I'm cold and wet and late home from work.

BUT why have C4 subtitled the homeless girl from Edinburgh, and none of the other teenagers? It's not the first time they've done this, and it really, really pisses me off that they presume no-one can understand a Scottish accent, and that everyone can understand the various English accents.

Rant over.

Soz, watching, but have to disagree. I do find it hard to understand without subs, but then again I am as deaf as a plank.

V sad situations though.

RapscallionCat · 01/11/2010 20:17

I agree!

15 minutes in and just so depressing.

scurryfunge · 01/11/2010 20:19

Eh?

What was that?

Something about haggis.....? Grin

EightiesChick · 01/11/2010 21:21

Watching on +1. I must admit I hadn't noticed because I had already switched subtitles on for the whole thing, fully expecting that I would have trouble understanding any teenagers.

Desperately sad so far. Poor kids.

AgentProvocateur · 01/11/2010 21:40

OK, I was being unreasonable. Compared to the lives of these poor kids, my subtitle rage fades into insignificance. They all just want to be loved by their mums, don't they? It's very sad.

Sophie's mum is just unbelievable.

Utterly awful. I know we only see one side if the story, and I am sure they are far from angels but I wonder how many of them ever had a chance. That 16 year old in Edinburgh was so old and broken. She looked like she has seen so much.
