Is it just me or does anyone else think if mum would just step up to the mark a bit more, Loretta wouldn't be such a mess?

OMG

what is the point

SandStorm · 28/10/2010 21:38

I suspect there will be very little point at the end of the day. It's a bit sad though that it takes a teacher who doesn't appear to be a mum to put down some rules in the house.

The dad saying that children shouldnt need to do what they are told everytime as that is 'victorian' says it all really

I thought it was a good show. The problem with both parents was that they were too close to the situation. Mum in particular was clearly still conflicted about her relationship with her former partner - I thought it was very telling when she had the meeting with him and the teacher at school that she put on quite a revealing dress and was focussing on his reaction to her (distant) rather than putting her daughters needs first.

At the beginning of the show I was as exasperated as everyone else with Loretta, and thought she was going to be a very tough nut to crack, and I was quite amazed by the transformation in her by the end of the week.

It was a very clear example of how much children need boundaries, and also how they live up to our expectations of them.

Respect to Miss Dudley - she was calm, consistent and positive.

I loved this programme. And a happy ending too! Wonder if Miss Dudley's done the same with any other pupils, she seemed a natural.
