I agree it was great- all the people involved were inspiring and he was very brave!

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 17/10/2010 23:50

His lovely, lovely wife is a MNer. Smile

Awitch · 17/10/2010 23:54

kittya · 17/10/2010 23:55

and they look like they live a modest life. Adorable children.

I hope there is an update. Id like to see one from previous episodes.

I loved Oscar's reaction; he handled it so well!

BleedyGonzalez · 18/10/2010 00:47

Haven't seen this show for a while, but it's one of my faves. One of the few programmes guaranteed to have me bawling every week.

WingDad · 18/10/2010 00:53

What's the name of the millionaire? Wouldn't mind catching it on 4OD/Youtube but don't know which one to select! Was it aired tonight? Last one 4OD seems to have is March 2010...

Awitch · 18/10/2010 01:00

chris someone

WingDad · 18/10/2010 01:08

There's no one there under the name of Chris Someone Confused

Just kidding, cheers Awitch, I've now managed to find him on the Channel 4 website. He's called Chris Brown and apparently the episode is 'Coming Soon to 4OD' Hmm Well, iPlayer would have it up by now!

Awitch · 18/10/2010 01:19

it was a really moving episode, have yer hankies handy.

kveta · 18/10/2010 09:56

I was howling fairly early on in, and even DH was crying. lovely programme, and how cute is their baby?!

Notquitegrownup · 18/10/2010 11:45

Totally agree. Great programme, fantastic people who completely restore your faith in human nature, cutest baby, and I really really want a robotic hoover too!!

Notquitegrownup · 18/10/2010 11:47

Waves to Mrs Brown, in case she is reading. Do hope that the programme has made a lastingly positive impression on you all. Your dh seems really lovely Smile

AprilMeadow · 18/10/2010 12:28

Not sure if this is the right thing to do, but just wanted to say a huge thank you for your lovely comments.

We watched the show last night not having a clue as to what would make the final cut. Was the hardest thing he has ever had to do and i can safely say that i have never been more proud of him in my life.

Last week was very hard as we had crap thrown from all angles purely based on a few press releases and the clips on channel 4. Thankfully those who threw the crap realised after watching that infact they had got their knickers in a twist for no reason.

I will now go off and clean the house!

Thank you again to you all and especially Showofbloodystumps and kveta as your words last week really did help xx

Notquitegrownup · 18/10/2010 13:12

Aw, hello April. Didn't see the thread, last week, thank goodness. People can be soooo quick to judge, can't they? Glad that it has turned out OK for you all.

(So is the Robot Hoover as good as it appears to be??!)

WingDad · 18/10/2010 13:16

Your kids are lovely April, and your husband is a genuinely nice fella with a good heart, which is hard to find these days.

I've just finished watching this episode on 4OD, and what a nice hour it was watching. It suddenly hit me about 5 minutes in that he went to my childhood area of North Manchester! I lived there from birth until late teens. They say it's the worst place to live in the country, they're right unfortunately. Gun crime, rape, anti-social behaviour, all sorts. I don't miss living there in the slightest.

Send my best to your husband April, he's the sort of guy I'd love to have a pint with haha!

largeginandbloodpunch · 18/10/2010 13:31

Aw such nice things to hear April Smile You must be popping at the seams with proudness.

The folks and i watched last night. Well done Chris for making so many people happy.

AprilMeadow · 18/10/2010 13:42

NotQuite - Yes it is!! You can programme it to come on at the same time everyday. It hoovers for an hour or until it has covered the same area 5 times. It has little lighthouses that you can put at the top of the stairs or doorways that make the robot think its a wall :o

Thank you wingdad, I think where is stayed is called 'Alcohol Alley' as the are 40 places within a half mile radius that you can buy booze!

LG&T :o

mufti · 18/10/2010 14:02

very enjoyable/moving episode.

Notquitegrownup · 18/10/2010 14:08

Hiya Mufti. How are you?

(I always think of you when I watch Secret Millionaire, as I remember that you said it was one of your favourite programmes)

mufti · 18/10/2010 14:15

hi back NQGU, good thanks, yes it is, always have tissues to hand
SPENT MORNIng in reception class! , so a little weary, resting till collection time
"how the other half lives" was good too, anyone else watch that?

springlamb · 18/10/2010 14:52

I had never watched the show before in my life but was restricted to telly as DH had some Crucial Stuff to be doing online, so couldn't MN. I missed the beginning and the cute kids.
Some parts were difficult viewing but I am glad Chris took so much away from the experience and left so much behind (especially in Talbot House!).
My own DH carries a few issues with him, I do so wish life would transpire to start him dealing with them!

greaseistheword · 18/10/2010 15:43
