Australian Masterchef on Watch - who is watching this and why do I keep missing episodes?

I don't really get it. I thought it was on at 7pm. So I saw in on Wed/Thursday was it? when they were all cooking in the restaurant and then they went to a wine farm. Then today it seems to be a stupid masterclass and I missed an elimination round.

I know it's not the greatest tv but I seem to be missing the most interesting episodes and wondered if it's on at another time too?

I think is on once a day. But the old episode repeated the following morning. I think. I've got mine sky plussed so watch ib evening when kids asleep. Though never bother eith the masyerclass one..

Interestingcomparing to uk. I think the uk one has Much higher production values and places far more emphasis on culinary flair rather than on being able to follow recipes. I also get very very pissed off with the music (god it's annoying. It's not silent cinemas guys. We don't need to have tinkly happy music when they like a dish) and the way the contestants have to recap in the bits to camera on what happened 2 minutes earlier.I know what happened - I was watching

But love the paciness of it. Like a cross between the apprentice and master chef uk.

Was talking to Aussie friends recently and wax getting sly the background dirt about product placement scandals and so on..

yes it is exactly like a cross between the apprentice and masterchef but HELL it must go on for months before they actually whittle them down. Feels like we started with 50 and we've only got to the last 14 now! AND I cannot believe Joanne is still in there after she keeps on backstabbing people!

I can't stand the masterclasses either - not sure why the production company hasn't cottoned on to this, surely no-one can like them?

The other bits I enjoy are when the chefs go up against the celebrities in those one on ones. For some reason, I can't imagine chefs doing that here!

The recap thing reminds me of big brother (not that I watch but every now and then I catch it, like the diary sessions!) - is very strange. Some of the challenges they do are great though.

Thanks for explaining, I thought I might be missing another session. I also sky+ ours but it got full because the dcs seemed to have hit series record on Phineas and Ferb and Pokemon master challenge which must have had about 10 episodes a day and the hard drive got full. Argh!

Aargh - I love phineus and Ferb.but there's a limit!

I like the celebrity chefs (though Donna hay has a face like a smacked arse). I also like to chuckle at matt Preston standing next to the other guys looking like gandalf next to frodo and Sam. He is a giant!

yes and those cravats! His pink outfit the other day was hysterical

Have you seen at the end they sometimes have a list of the shops who sponsored their clothes/shoes!

I know! George was dressed by French Connection last year. Very funny.

The lemon yellow trews that Matt wore were splendid.

Apparently he is the face of a particular type of kitchen paper towel and at some point in this season something is spilt and he practically wrestled people to the floor in order to be the first to exaggeratedly mop up. Also he wanted to be the fact of Jennie Craig but the tv company said no because they have an australian version of the Biggest Loser weightloss programme and felt that Jennie Craig wouldn't tie in with the exercise based weightloss in the show. So instead my Aussie friend said that he might be corralled into being in that.

Coles have got well into the product placement, but screwed up a few shows ago by providing something that was past its use by date.

foxinsocks · 15/10/2010 20:32

lol at the paper towel story! Didn't know that!

eww at the past the sell by date product! I don't remember that one.
