I suppose it is about trust, trusting in yourself, and trusting in others and not abusing that trust.

I supppose if they really want to abuse the trust invested in them, they could send someone else in to do the job.

I do think though that anyone who weeps frequently has no place in a professional kitchen!

I always think it must be hard to watch the dramatics if you were, say, a fireman or a brain surgeon - basically someone who makes actual life and death decisions and has a reason to be stressed, as opposed to sobbing because you didn't clean the bones properly on a bit if lamb.

Didn't watch tonight, but I remember Celebrity Masterchef and how they replayed with dramatic music and cuts to the celeb's devastated face- the fall of pie pastry onto the floor. Drama!

They just make them do the spiel though. Some of them are passionate chefs and some are fuckwits who want to be on TV. I wonder though if you have been doing it for 20 years and haven't yet MADE it, that should tell you something....I'm horrible, me though.

Oh, I love it. felt sorry for Amy, nerves plus less experience...
I'm always shocked how badly some professional cooks cook. (lets face it, they are cooks, not chefs...)

LOL SeroiusWispaHabit, she was very annoying with the constant weeping, and that alone would have told me she wasn't up to the job. I've worked in a few kitchens and that kind of thing would have had very short shrift.

I couldn't believe she went through instead of the other guy, as although he made a mistake and hadn't cooked the lamb properly, he looked to me more like somebody who would be able to develop and get the job done, and had more like the right attitude.
