My absolute favourite thing on TV and what do they put on instead?

Bloody golf. Who watches golf?

I know Gail's brother! He is a dab hand at singing geeky hilarious songs on the ukelele.

Can't wait for next week...

(Thank god for Victoria Coren)

You know Gail's brother? Have you hot the latest on Gail then? I hope she's doing something terribly interesting and terribly well-paid.

I really don't get people who Talk During University Challenge. It is almost as bad as Talking During Doctor Who.

Dumbledoresgirl · 06/10/2010 10:23

Ha ha! I had a bad day on Monday, and the final straw for me was finding out UC had been replaced by golf. For me, it is a real boost knowing the answer to a question and discovering that our coutnry's elite haven't a clue. Even my 12 year old (admittedly very bright and geography obsessed) ds beats them hands down on map questions.

I am not sure I enjoy spotting the geeks though. You do know the geekiest of them usually end up in total social isolation, eating baked beans in a bedsit and doing some mindless mediocre job in local government, don't you? So sad.

sharbie · 06/10/2010 11:00

no no i am in awe of the geeks Smile

UnquietDad · 06/10/2010 12:58

I am usually amazed by how much more they know at the age of 20 than I did, to be honest.

loopyloops · 06/10/2010 13:08

But doesn't it piss you off when one team are all mature post grads with an average age of 45, when the other team are all still going through puberty?

OP posts:
Dumbledoresgirl · 06/10/2010 13:10

Oh yes, I am amazed at what they know too. I don't want to come across as some know it all who thinks the young generation are all stupid. They are all way out of my league and always have been.

But just occasionally, I know something none of them do, and I just love that moment of superiority Wink

LoopyLoops · 11/10/2010 19:57

I'm afraid I had a lowly 9,
rnbsdad 21.

Have had a good run of late but too many integar science/maths ones. :(

LoopyLoops · 11/10/2010 21:41

Of course, the more the merrier, but if there are more in the 20s I'm going to flounce!
