As the tedious summer ritual of debates over whether exams are easier than they used to be dies away, here's a programme to add fuel to the fire. Five families with teenagers sitting GCSEs this year brave a minefield of intergenerational grief as the programme gives the parents all the textbooks, coursework and lessons they need to sit the same exams as their children. It's a neat idea and sure to be full of surprises - as well as a few red faces, it's safe to assume. One of the dads involved sums up his feelings like this: "I've got a real dilemma. I want to do well to prove to myself I can do it, but at the same time, if I do better than [my son], I'm going to steal his thunder and if I do better than [my wife], then it could end in divorce!" It'll be interesting to see how that one pans out.
