i love the bloke who plays Combo.

Totallyfloaty35 · 28/09/2010 23:09

Was horrible, her dad was just like mine, feel really sick now.

superdragonmama · 28/09/2010 23:10

mesmerizing and utterly, utterly terrible, so sad

booyhoo · 28/09/2010 23:12

i found last week really tough viewing, this week aswell but not so much IYSWIM. i could relate to the girl who was raped so it felt real and personal when it was happening but i could not relate at all to the rapist so his death was not as hard for me to watch, again though, i felt like he was doing that to me when he was attacking Lol.

absoloutely brilliant work, i wish it wasn't over.

katkouta · 28/09/2010 23:12

Brilliant, was so sure Combo was going to kill him. Nice twist. I felt it could have been put into 2 episodes though, felt a bit rushed.
Shane Meadows apparently said if it goes well he will do another series :)

GeraldineAubergine · 28/09/2010 23:13

I have never been so shocked by tv

OracleInaCoracle · 28/09/2010 23:13

you really felt that they were all on tenterhooks around him, as superdragon said, mezmerising

booyhoo · 28/09/2010 23:15

it was the most 'real' tv i have ever seen.

OracleInaCoracle · 28/09/2010 23:17

i love the way its acted and shot, complete with actors stuttering and talking over each other. i never saw the film, think i might get it tomorrow though.

katkouta · 28/09/2010 23:18

You must Lissie. Also if you havent seen any of his other films, do so! Esp Dead Mans Shoes.

booyhoo · 28/09/2010 23:19

i have seen the film but i don't remember it. going to get it at the weekend.

4andnotout · 28/09/2010 23:24

I was actually shaking when Lol's dad attacked her,'it was very gritty and at times hard to watch but I really enjoyed it.

Joekate · 28/09/2010 23:25

Watched it last week and ended up in tears. Nothing like that has ever happened to me, but I could feel the fear. I wasn't sure if I was going to watch it tonight, but very glad I did - although totally harrowing, brilliant tv. Well acted all round and engrossing. I hope there is another series

tethersend · 28/09/2010 23:30

Shane Meadows is a genius.

BunnyLebowski · 29/09/2010 11:33

I have never been so affected by anything on the screen (TV or film) in my life Shock Sad.

It was heart stopping.

These last 2 episodes have restored my faith in my beloved Shane Meadows. I still think Episodes 1&2 were piss weak but that has faded into distant memory now.

Stephen Graham (Combo) is an amazing actor.

tiredemma · 29/09/2010 11:35

I cried every time I saw Stephen Graham on the screen. Excellent actor.

Jugglers · 29/09/2010 12:33

Is the film as voilent as the TCV series? I couldn't watch Lol's rape last evening -kept flicking back every 2 or 3 seconds.

I missed so much of the story with Combo by not having seen the film.

Utterly brilliant tv - shame about all the blinkin ad breaks!

lal123 · 29/09/2010 12:35

bums - we missed it last night and Sky+ was playing up so didn't record it...

tiredemma · 29/09/2010 12:37

Jugglers- the end of the TiE original film is violent and hard to watch.

Excellent film thoughj- and if you watched it I think it would help you understand more about Combo.

BelfastBloke · 29/09/2010 15:12

lal123, I just watched it on the 4 on Demand website.

domeafavour · 29/09/2010 15:35

how many episodes were there? i only saw the last three, did i miss 2?

BelfastBloke · 29/09/2010 15:47

Four episodes in total, plus the movie set about 5 years earlier providing the backstory

katkouta · 29/09/2010 15:58

Bunny, Shane Meadows only directed episodes 3 and 4. The first 2 were directed by Tom Harper. When I realised this it made much more sense.
