Yes, because we saw the actor who is playing the psycho in Kalkan in Turkey recently so wanted to watch it-thought it was great and looking forward to ending tonight.

coppertop · 06/09/2005 15:09

It was far spookier than I thought it would be but I still want to watch the 2nd part tonight. It was horrible but strangely fascinating at the same time.

saadia · 06/09/2005 15:43

I saw the trailers and was really freaked out and decided I wouldn't be able to watch it, but then I did start to watch it and felt sick the whole time and then had to turn it off when she ate the custard.

But I really want to know how it ends so may dip in for the last fifteen mins. It seems really disturbing and I am seriously opposed to entertainment based around a deviant character (eg Silence of the Lambs) so not sure what I'll do - also dh will probably want to watch the tennis.

Getting ready for the gripping furore??
By the way-when I saw Owen whatshisface,(the villian in this), in Turkey he looked really normal one day,(we were sitting right behind him in an open air restaurant) and the next time I saw him he was wearing the most enormous pair of flares I have EVER seen-with a sailor type striped t-shirt-quite outragoes really as was with wife and kids!

Aero · 06/09/2005 20:56

Yup - watched it and enjoyed it, but very creepy. Reminded me slightly of 'The Vanishing' with Keifer Sutherland - this seems even more creepy though. Dh has gone off to LA on business, so will be watching it on my own with my cushion to bury my face in for the nasty bits.

dropinthe · 06/09/2005 20:59

Right-ready to go-will post at ten!

dropinthe · 06/09/2005 21:21

She is a great actress, isn't she? He,a great psycho-can't believe I was so close to him-have only ever sen Bill Oddy and that man in the FLASH adverts! I'm a bit of a saddo really!

dropinthe · 06/09/2005 21:50

God-she is playing such a good part-is no one else watching this?

Aero · 06/09/2005 21:52

Is really gripping now - I'm loving it! Am taping it for dh - he was gutted to be missing the concluding part! Is reaaaaaaaally creepy though - got my cushion poised!

kath4kids · 06/09/2005 22:01

don't think i like it but can't help watching. scary

aloha · 06/09/2005 22:04

Hate it. It's why I'm on Mumsnet. Two reasons - 1. since having children I cannot watch people hurting other people, just can't. They are always my children. Too painful and distressing.
and 2. Hate watching sadistic treatment of women by men used as entertainment, and there is a current trend for super violent, super sadistic stuff in books, film and TV. Who thinks up this stuff and why? And does it give people ideas. Can't bear it.

Aero · 06/09/2005 22:09

Can't tear myself away either, but it is very scary now! It said at the start it was based on true events - so in agreement with aloha re giving people ideas...........horrid.

kath4kids · 06/09/2005 22:10

have to watch it till the end now but if i knew before i started watching it what it was about don't think i would have bothered.

The really scary thing is things like this can and prob do go on around us without anyone suspecting a thing.

dropinthe · 06/09/2005 22:11

Agree girls!

snafu · 06/09/2005 22:13

I have only watched few minutes of it but agree with aloha. Found it a bit gut-wrenching.

But I do love Stephen Tomkinlimnimson - he is so hang-dog and cute

kath4kids · 06/09/2005 22:13

if you have teenage girls i guess they have mobile phones, use the internet. How on earth do we warn them, take care of them.

saadia · 06/09/2005 22:13

aloha I do agree with you about this kind of thing being used for entertainment, but I will just watch the end in the hope of a happy ending...

kath4kids · 06/09/2005 22:16

go on open the door, oopps not much chance now is there!

dropinthe · 06/09/2005 22:32

That was a bit too close to the mark-very fine line between gloryfying violnce towards women and telling like it could be-SCARING us into action-I'm glad I don't have girls-it must be very hard for you that do!

Was very,very ed.

sparklymieow · 06/09/2005 22:37

I watched it with DH and he was disturbed by it too, I had to turn away at points

kath4kids · 06/09/2005 22:38

well i;m off to bed goodness knows if i will sleep after that

saadia · 06/09/2005 22:39

I'm just glad it's over. Wish they hadn't screened it and that I hadn't watched any of it.

SleepyJess · 06/09/2005 22:40

Amazing how they made 'Marian' look so dowdy and unattractive.. the girl is gorgeous! Remember when she was the belle of Casualty?

Very gripping and spooky I agree.
