There are moments here that are so poignant and so sad, it's almost impossible to continue watching. All of the young participants were held hostage in the siege that began a year ago when Chechen separatist terrorists stormed School Number One and held more than 1,000 children and adults in unspeakable conditions until its chaotic, murderous end three days later. These children saw things no one should ever witness, at any age. Some lost parents and siblings, and all were caught up in the carnage that claimed more than 330 victims, including 171 children. The children, who are so young, are astonishingly resilient, and their recall of those dreadful events is impeccable. A humbling and remarkable documentary.
