Yep! Saw MN Towers on there.

DH is massive Dawkins fan so wasn't going to miss this one. I'm a nominal Catholic but not a big fan of faith schools so very interesting!

Usually find Dawkins rather arrogant to watch but he seems a bit more restrained in this

surprised there wasn't more of a thread on this.

that science teacher in the Muslim school appeared to not know very much about evolution but pretty mean of RD to set her up like that....

He left me pretty well convinced that OFSTED should be inspecting religious education, at any rate.

Snorbs · 19/08/2010 10:05

How did Dawkins set up that "science" teacher? As far as I can recall, a pupil asked Dawkins a fairly basic question about evolution which he answered but not before he gave the alleged "science" teacher a chance to answer it first. She couldn't, not because it was a set-up but because she knew bugger-all about evolution.

I'd expect someone claiming to be a science teacher to be able to answer that level of question about evolution just as I'd expect them to be able to explain how electromagnets work.

sethstarkaddersmum · 19/08/2010 13:06

well.... I suppose I felt sorry for her being filmed being asked a question which she clearly didn't know the answer to (and RD directed it to her knowing she wouldn't know).

but you're right, it was pretty bloody basic.

Snorbs · 19/08/2010 16:33

Meh. She fell into a hole she dug herself by her own ignorance and/or laziness. If she was an RE teacher then I'd have some sympathy with her but she isn't so I don't.
