I agree, she looks totally knackered!

I wish they wouldn't use that silly incidental music during scenes of bad behaviour etc, seems to trivialise the whole thing IMO.

I thought she was looking a bit drained too. DD refused to go to bed last night, so I had her sat on the sofa and told her to watch and learn how Supernanny would deal with her!

I was wanting to beat the bloody mum though - her poor parents had no privacy whatsoever!!! I had visions of her legging it over the gate when it was locked!

I like a lot of Supernanny's tactics but it really annoys me when she looks sideways at the camera when she spends the first day with the family as if to say 'God, this mother is sooooooo useless' At the end of the day she should be more professional and observe, then give her opinion to mum/dad without involving the viewers at first - we make our own opinions of the parents because we are allowed to, she should not roll her eyes when she has not yet taught them any techniques. The second time she returns after leaving the parents with a routine to follow and they slip up then she can tut and huff away!

Its gotta be hard not to roll your eyes with some of them though.

I feel sorry for her when she has to watch one child beating hell out of another, and listen to the mother say in a dopey voice "now don't do that lovie"

DH and I both commented on how shattered she looked, but then she had been with that family all week.
My goodness those girls were wild.

I thought the girls were basically v.naughty but not a patch on that child last week.

That girl last week was hellish.

I think the girl last week had been possessed by the devil! The mum last night though was just like a child - she would go running to grass her children up to her dad all the time - I used to do that to my older brother!!

I said that!! I was shrieking at DH saying "Look - she's actually telling on them!!!"

well I love supernanny she can come and live with me and my 3 girls anytime..... and I love a programme that makes my children look not so awful after all.

I am pregnant with my first and DH and I were watching this program last night (I like to prepare myself for what I might have to endeavour!) DH was really winding me up though - particularly with last weeks because he was saying it's always the mother who loses control and that's why the kids are naughty. He said about last night's that those children were naughty because they didn't have a dad to come home and lay down the law I was sooo with this comment. I think he thinks that I am gonna be this crazy mother who can't wait for him to come home and be the 'disciplinarian' in our family. I tried to explain that more often than not these poor ladies are with the children 24/7 and it is understandable that they will strop at the kids from time to time and break down in tears when it all gets too much, (I am prepared for my moments like these too) but that most mothers control their children well, with or without the help of dad, some might need a little guidence in doing this, and that he shouldn't be such a sexist!

I can't wait for the penny to drop that all will not be straightforward in his little kiddy world Sorry - rant about DH over!

your husband is wrong chloe - - both parents have to work together and maintain consisent standards or the kids will play you off against each other.

I agree Iota, luckily we do both agree that even if we don't agree with each other over a particular discipline action then we will not discuss it in front of the children so will put up a united front. I think Supernanny is teaching me quite a bit - whether I will be able to put her techniques in practice will be another matter!

I would never allow my child to run continually into the road like that. I would have the bigger 2 on reins.

I know Xena - that was very scary, she just didn't even look and was like a whippet across that road. She has obviously never had any road education which surely should be taught at a young age?

My DS was not at all scared of roads and he would have run out if I had let him go, as soon as he had any understanding I stressed that cars were dangerous and could squash you, thankfully he was my 1st as it would have been hard trying to hang onto him and another child. he had just turned 4 when dd1 was born and definatly understood by then, if he didn't I would have used reins or a wrist strap. DD1 has never been a 'runner' and is scared of roads anyway. (DD2 still in a p/chair). I have also instilled in the bigger 2 that if there were to drop a toy in the road to leave it and I would go back when it was safe, and i it got squashed then I would buy them another, but I couldn't replace them. iyswim.

After chatting with my friend... with think Supernanny might be pregnant - she has changed shape and it would explain how worn out she looked.

I am soooooooooooo tempted to apply for the next series, but dp won't hear of it.

Those girls were very naughty, but they were also incredibly cute, particularly when they said sorry after sitting in the naughty corner.

It must be very hard being a single mother with three kids. I can't wait for DH to get home just to have some back up and my kids are actually really good in comparison. I would find it very difficult to maintain my coolness if I was with them all the time on my own but I would have to just leave them to go to bed as I do now. I think supernanny is good but I do think sometimes people may just get so depressed that they find it difficult to keep control and just having some help may have spurred this mother on to take control. Maybe her parents should have been firmer with her.
