Should our friends do another episode?

I'd rather not say who they are but would just like opinions on whether any of the families looked bad. They were not keen on doing another episode but seem to be changing their mind. I think it's not a good idea but I am so risk averse and a wall flower so they may not take my views seriously. However being blasted on Mumsnet may change their thinking!

It's interesting to watch but is it good for the kids or family? It's the family whose son went to boarding school. Hope friend doesn't come on Mumsnet!

He is a nice boy and very normal. They were pretty unhappy about some editing though which is why they are undecided. They are normal but when they meet new people they are viewed or judged as the family on child genius first and they always have to work hard to get past it. I don't know why they would then consider it again if they feel this way. I think they are mad as I cannot see any benefit to them doing it.

So do you think she should go ahead? I thought they may get flamed but maybe I am too risk averse.

I actually really enjoyed watching the programmes and would love to find out how some of them are doing, especially Dante, Michael, and the lad you mentioned.

But I thought the producers were quite cruel about how they filmed the family of four, and it can only have made life at school worse for them. They are just kids after all, and no kids deserve to have their family life shown in that way. Therefore I wouldn't trust the producers with their editing, and certainly wouldn't have my family filmed (not that I have any child genii!)

But yes, I confess I want there to be more episodes. Have your friends decided?

Oh, how exciting that you know one of the families! I think all the children and parents were interesting, I don't think any of them came across badly at all - if anything, it was rather obvious that the producers wanted some kind of drama and actually just got normal family life!

I saw the mum of the lad who writes the Corydon books (Michael?) in the library a few days after I saw the last series and I wanted to go up and say how nice her family seemed, but I didn't have the courage!

They are still undecided but I don't think they are going to bother. Apparently there are at least two more new families and considering it was supposed to be a genius version of seven up, adding more kids defeats the purpose!
