RSPCA and 'dangerous' dogs

Anyone see this last night. Panorama? Not sure

It was a truly shocking program. Made me so angry. It totally underlined how appallingly human behave as a rule with regard to other species. They are disposable basically. Commodities.

And I know what other people on here have said about the RSPCA but I didn't see anything wrong with the way they acted. Yes it was sad to put the dogs down but short of keeping increasing numbers of unrehomable dogs for the rest of the their lives, what could they do? Even some of the other rescues were having to destroy dogs.

The problem isn't with the RSPCA, it's with us as a society.

I saw it Orm and was shocked - I had seen something in the paper about the number of staffies being abandoned but had no idea the problem was so massive. Very sad to see healthy bouncing dogs being put down - but I personally would not want some of the dogs shown on the programme bouncing up to me and DC in the park (which often happens in my neck of south London and is a menace). I think something needs to be done about irresponsible owners - I could see on the programme as you said there is nowhere to rehome these animals who are probably too aggressive thanks to how they have been treated. Very sad for the dogs - shame on those who fail to look after and dump these dogs

"but I personally would not want some of the dogs shown on the programme bouncing up to me and DC in the park"

Well no I can understand that. It's just wrong to keep producing animals like this and training them to be vicious.

All animals are commodities as far as humans are concerned, and especially domesticated species. Dogs have far better lives than pigs or cows, at least.

So there is moonmother Thanks

ragged - indeed we do. I'm not sure that is an argument for carrying on doing so.
