Hmm, a council CEO who has a salary in the 6 figures, going undercover to determine which public services to slash?

How about we start with his fat salary?

Agree about the salary. I watched the one last week and thought it was enlightening.

expatinscotland · 22/07/2010 21:11

This guy is a twonk.

I do find the senior management salary levels in local government quite astonishing!

MrsMalcolmTucker · 22/07/2010 21:14

How can they not recognise him?!

I work for a council and barely a day goes past without getting a bit of corporate wank email or magazine or poster with our chief exec's fecking head grinning out at us

expatinscotland · 22/07/2010 21:14

I find them wrong, tbh.

OP posts:
LadyBlaBlah · 22/07/2010 21:14

His face is saying a lot already

I think he looks quite ashamed

orienteerer · 22/07/2010 21:15

He looks pretty shocked already.

expatinscotland · 22/07/2010 21:16

He should be thoroughly ashamed!

orienteerer · 22/07/2010 21:16

You'd think a week working at grass roots level would have been part of his induction course......?

AnnoyingOrange · 22/07/2010 21:18

"it's an eyeopener"

MrsMalcolmTucker · 22/07/2010 21:18

I think it's quite shocking if this is his first experience of doing this. I thought it was pretty standard practice for senior managers to spend some time face to face with frontline service. He shouldn't need the cameras to tell him that isolated older people appreciate the meals on wheels service

CheeseandGherkins · 22/07/2010 21:19

Watching this now too, my dad used to work at that council, as did I briefly. Nice offices. I'm not impressed so far though, he's quite patronising.

LadyBlaBlah · 22/07/2010 21:20

He is in disguise Mrs Tucker - he has cut his hair short

Wonder how they explain the cameras

5inthebed · 22/07/2010 21:20

MrsMT, they don't recognise him because he grew a beard and shaved his hair, to fit in with all the other working cass people, innit.

I wanted to adopt those old people

CheeseandGherkins · 22/07/2010 21:21

Don't forget the beard that he grew, lol

MrsMalcolmTucker · 22/07/2010 21:24

I'm beginning to see how Clark Kent got away with it for all those years

CheeseandGherkins · 22/07/2010 21:25

Lol

expatinscotland · 22/07/2010 21:26

I'll be really surprised if Malachi earns more than £16,000/annum.

And yet this guy has a massive office in a new, ornate looking building.

FFS.

OP posts:
LadyBlaBlah · 22/07/2010 21:28

Is it me or is he looking like at that fella Malakai (?), like he knows that he is a better person than him already and he is one lucky bastard for getting the job he got

Thats the thing with these fat cats - most people could do their jobs - they aren't that different from most people

expatinscotland · 22/07/2010 21:29

Many could do their jobs better than they can for less money.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 22/07/2010 21:29

Is this guy really this fucking clueless?

OP posts:
CheeseandGherkins · 22/07/2010 21:29

I think that all he's thinking it where he can cut costs and save money....at a loss to all the people probably though. The meals on wheels comments worried me, putting up the cost of meals next?

LadyBlaBlah · 22/07/2010 21:31

I fear he is

It seems the lights are on but noone is home

CheeseandGherkins · 22/07/2010 21:33

It's odd for me watching this, I used to live around there (East London) until 6ish years ago, grew up there and lived there most of my life, seems quite surreal.

expatinscotland · 22/07/2010 21:35

They've been on their feet all day long. Again, getting abuse for little money and possibly getting stabbed.
