Can someone tell me about Davina McCall?

I was wasting colossal amounts of time browsing the web the other day, and looking for Davina's new fitness DVD, and came across this blog of hers.

This post talks about her 'Mummy'.

Wasn't her mother an alcoholic who died?

I should get a life, I know. Just puzzled!

Found this in Wikipedia:

McCall was estranged from her mother, who died in 2008

I saw Who Do You Think You Are last year and she definately spoke about being estranged from her mother for years and about her dying.

I dunno, very odd. Unless she is speaking about her atep-mother in the article , does she have a step-mum ??

Yes, I saw Who do you think you are too and remembered that. Wikipedia also says her sister is younger.
Maybe it's her MIL?? (I suppose someone with an estranged and now dead mother might start calling a friendly mother in law 'mummy'?)

I know that everything on the internet isn't true, and that Davina is a busy woman who might not write her own blog, but thought that was a big clanger given that there has been some media coverage (I think) of Davina's alcoholic mother.

Weird!

Davina moved in with her father and his wife Gaby when she was 13. That is who she refers to as Mummy and who she is talking to on the phone in that annoying hair dye advert.

Oh, yeah, the hair dye advert! I forgot about that but I remember sniggering to DH once about it!
That's lovely, then, that she can call her stepmother 'mummy' and sees her as her own 'mummy'. A happy ending!
