Would you help me by telling me all about your 15-year-old DS?

I'm a student and have got to do some work with a 15-year-old lad next week. I'm slightly kacking myself because I dont' know any teenagers - I didn't even know any 15-year-old boys when I was a 15-year-old girl!

If you have got a moment to post a few likes and dislikes of your 15-year-old, and any info about what motivates him, that would be great. Last week I was on placement with 3-year-olds - something tells me this boy won't be jumping any hoops for a sticker!!

He liked anything with a screen ..music motivated my ds when he was 15 he plays guitar..

DS1-14 seems to live to play Call of Duty online with a bunch of his friends. He also likes music and is very fussy about clothes.

mine is 16 if you're stuck and he like screens also

You need to talk to someone who knows this boy and what he's into if you possibly can. Otherwise you may do a lot of random research and have to deal with one like mine instead.
Loves reading, Medieval history, Warhammer, archery, gardening and survival skills (think Wildman of the Woods)
Dislikes any team sport,other teenagers, talking, bikes, and computer games.
He's lovely, easy to share a house with and eats enormous amounts of raw veg.

DS (16) likes Chris Morris. He thinks he is Chris Morris.

Also fashion, foopball, films, anything with a screen.

Don't worry, boys of that age are usually great to be around (unless they're the ones that are crippled by shyness in your presence).

nah, tis all right goblinchild, what i needed here was a kind of mental realignment, i spent last week making activities based on Pokemon and what not, and i needed to reset my dials. i'm aware he may be into jane austen and early schoenberg but let's be honest it's not as likely as the things on here...

I've come to this thread rather late but my ds has recently turned 16 and he likes music (he plays 2 instruments in bands and orchestras), singing in mixed and boys choirs, football, history, socialising on FB and going to town with friends (they are trying out each cafe in town in turn apparently and then they'll decide on their favourite one and make it their regular one.) A neighbour's son is currently housebound so ds is spending time with him most days for an hour or two playing on this lad's x box (ds has never had a playstation or anything of his own because he has never asked for one). He is much more interested in current affairs and politics than I'll ever be. He can't wait until he turns 17 and can learn to drive. He didn't start reading for pleasure until quite late on but now reads regularly.

Let us know how you get on even if it's just a brief thumbs up!

My Ds (15 in august) has seen avatar twice and liked it.

He is another Call of Duty fan and likes gaming and football (watching it mostly!).

his main interests at the moment seem to be sports, eating and girls music is quite a safe topic too..

forget the negative media hype that seems to surround teenage boys.. ds's friends (well 99% of them!) are polite, reasonably articulate and easy to get along with

DS is 15, has about 4 close friends, wide circle of acquaintances. Doesn't bother with facebook apart from checking once a week or so.

Goes to mates' houses to do xbox, does ps3 in our house often with a friend round. This half term went to the museums in london and to Zizzis with 1 mate, otherwise 3 sleepovers this week (therefore tetchy).

Is ambitious and finally clicked that he needs to work his balls off to get the grades he needs.

Is funny, knows q a bit about current affairs, is caring and is happy with his own company (I'm the one who panics if there's the slightest gap in his weekend).

Rows 4 times a week, does fencing and karate. Not a team player, much more an individual.

Endless reruns of Friends & Scrubs so far as telly is concerned, also Live at the Apollo.

What sort of placement is it? will this give us a clue about what sort of boy he is?

Otherwise my 15 year old likes:
Doing god knows what on his laptop
Call of Duty/FIFA PS3
Listening to music
playing drums/bass guitar
working out in gym
basketball/rugby
sleeping
eating
hanging out with friends

Also both my teenagers know more about current affairs/politics than me and are happy to discuss/debate/argue this stuff.
