Hi
my son is 14 he has lived with his dad since we split 6yrs ago.I have had regular contact ever week in this time and we had a good relationship. We always did activities together and holidays.
Around 6mnths ago he changed drasticaly. He has had big fall outs with his dad stopped going to school..Sad as he is very bright! He started going out alot when he never used to and running away sometimes. His dad is at his wits end and I have had him come stay with me to try and help them both but his behaviour was the same here and he went back to his dads.Since he went back there he is the same but now wont talk to me and does not even want to see me.
We are doing all we can about school and social workers are involved but no body seems to be able to help.

Im not sure what to do or the best.I miss him so much but cant force him to come visit or talk to me.
His dad also not comunicating much at all with him.

I know children can change a bit as they become teenagers but we really dnt know what to do for the best.has anyone had similar experiences or any ideas we would try anything to keep in touch with him and help him.
Thanks

How terribly sad.

I think there is an element of forcing him to talk to you.........maybe not force.........but persistance is definitely your responsibility IMHO. Keep trying and trying. Text him daily, call him daily, just asking if there is anything you can do to help. I realise he won't give you any feedback at the moment...........but if you expect that, then that's fine. But IME, don't give up. Just daily contact, letting him know you are there.
