Pocket money for 13 year olds (year 8)

Just wondering how much is the going rate, what they have to do with it, (eg phone top ups, clothes,etc) and do they have to earn it.

I give my kids (Gr 8 and 11) only 15. Which I know is not much but we pay for everything, and this is just for them to but a drink or a snack every now and then. Mind you my son who is Gr 11 has a job and earns quite a lot. I still give him his 15 just to be fear. They do not have to earn their pocket money.

I meant "buy"a drink or snack not "but. Sorry.
