Can a 16-year-old sign on with temp agencies for summer office jobs?

Has anyone's DC done this? Thought it might be a good way to fill in the long gap between GCSEs and Sixth Form.

Don't know , but will watch with interest as that's a really good idea!

I did when I was 17.

It's for my DD and yes, she's very keen. She already has a Saturday job (in a clothing department) but obviously that won't keep her busy right through the summer - although she is going to ask if she can do any holiday cover. Her last GCSE is on 11th June so it's a long old time until sixth form starts in early September...

I think it would be good experience for her to work in an office environment too, it's something she hasn't done yet (she's worked in a children's soft play place, and also as a kennel maid - and her y10 work experience was working in our local regional college helping out the head of the photography department). But so far she hasn't actually done any office work.

We'll give a few agencies a ring and see if they take 16-year-olds on.
