share clothes with their male mates?
This week DSS has moved into his own flat, was staying with us before. We are really proud that he has sorted it out himself and arranged furniture etc...
Am a bit worried about his friends tho. One in particular has stayed over with him every night for the whole week (nothing abnormal there) but DSS has been wearing this other lad's clothes and shoes all week. He has his mates shorts, t shirts, football boots, trousers, coat etc....
Is this normal? I could understand 1 item but all of it? BTW he has plenty of his own clothes. DH thinks this is plain wierd!!!

I don't think its weird, they probably wear each others then they don't have to sort the washing, it all just gets thrown in

Would you find it wierd if he were a girl borrowing her mates clothes?

rimmer · 24/04/2009 20:18

Hi Disenchanted, tbh I don't have a problem with borrowing clothes. I'm sure we all have done it, but not an entire wardrobe.
BTW it's me who is supposed to be doing the washing so not relishing that task if it's for the 2 of them.

Perfectly normal. Think nothing of it.

I often find clothes in DS's wardrobe that I've never seen before in my life, even though they look well washed and worn.

Lilymaid · 24/04/2009 22:17

Perfectly normal - DS1 used to come back from university with odd items of clothing that belonged to friends - both male and female!

ABetaDad · 24/04/2009 22:20

Normal

If hes moved why are you doing the washing?

Macforme · 25/04/2009 17:35

I have 3 teens and half the time I don't recognize the stuff in the wash basket!

They all seem to think nothing of swapping/borrowing/sharing clothes! I might be concerned if I found my son wearing my girls' undies but other than that.. just seems to the thing these days!

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 25/04/2009 21:50

Why is it worrying you?

rimmer · 26/04/2009 00:08

I just thought it was a bit wierd. I could understand borrowing something for special occasion from a friend of mine e.g. a specific dress/shoes etc... Dunno DH thinks it's wierd too especially since dss hardly knows this other kid, only known him for a couple of weeks.
