The nurse at the hospital the other day (ds broke finger) said that there's a catchup of all vaccinations at 15.

Did you hear from the school or from the GP?

mummyflood · 05/03/2009 16:05

This is interesting. Been talking about vaccinations with young colleague (age 21) at work today. She thought that you had to have a booster MMR at 15 also. I have a 13 and 15yr old, is this something schools are handling? Wouldn't be keen on another MMR myself, as both DS's have had both jabs & a 'measleoid virus' at around age 2 & 4.

There is a catch up campaign nationally as many of the older teenagers only had 1 dose and need 2.

You can ask them to double check records though as our surgery found a computer recording issue as vaccinations can be recorded as Stage 0&1, 1&2. 1&B (B=Booster), 0 &B etc etc and the searches sometimes cannot capture all the correct options!

ds was called for one, it turned out it was just if they had only had a MR so not the full MMR

GrinnyPig · 06/03/2009 09:00

I have just received the consent form for DD1s Tetanus, Diptheria and Polio boosters. She is 15 and in year 10. The form states that this completes the vaccination programme. It doesn't mention MMR. Sounds like it wasn't noted when your DS had his pre school booster.
