okay how do I get ds1 to get his hair cut without nagging!

ds1 (13 nearly 14) is doing the long hair thing.. which is fine.. it's his head.

but the sulky head hung low.. and the constant flicking of the hair out of his eyes, because the fringe.. although it's not a fringe IYKWIM is down to his top lip!

now I don't even care if it's the same length.. but I'd like to see some sort of shape to it.

he is a great looking young man.. but all you see is hair, chin and black clothes. ( which actually seems about right for a teen boy LOL).

so.. how do I get him excieted about a trim/shape up?? and maybe a shopping trip?? without nagging!

As you said - it's his head. Drop the subject, let him decide his own appearance (bar tattoos and piercings of course) and you'll have more clout on things that really matter.

My DS1 ,13,is the same.
It's very thick and long and takes ages to dry. Not long ago I had to nag him to wash it....hormonal and greasy. Now I have to nag him not to wash it twice a day. ( I guess there may be a girl?)
I did persuade him into having a trim on the grounds that it would help the hair to lie flat. Combined it with a visit to Gamestation to spend some birthday money.
In the privacy of home he does actually wear a hairband! I started it when he had a major spot problem and I thought the greasy hair wasn't helping. He realised it feels comfortable to scrape your hair back off your face.

hey hey.. result.. I happen to be looking at this pic and he came over to me earlier.. and then went off with pic tpo hairdresser round the corner!.. he now has this cut!! yay!!!!! really suits him too.. although he has said he neeeeeds products..so we will go shopping in the morning!!
