Do your 13 year old boys still have sleepovers?

Ds2 has always been one for sleepovers and I loathe them. The reason being he is always in a foul mood the next day and he thinks that he can stay up all night on the xbox or watching tv. His bedroom isn't very big at the moment although we will be extending it, but in my opinion him and his mates should have grown out of sleepovers by now. I don't mind it occasionally, in half term or whatever although i hate waking up and having other teenage boys lounging about in my house. His mates are always welcome here, in fact 3 have just left after being here 4 hours but ds2 is in a grump because 2 of them are sleeping round one of their houses. They all seem to sleep round each others every weekend but if they see each other all day why do they have to sleep round each others or actually keep each other awake all night? Or am I being a selfish old woman who loves her sleep after working all week?

I'm not keen on sleepovers myself TBH. We have never had any non-cousin/step-brother sleepovers (and don't really intend to start)
Surely if you (and I) welcome their mates the rest of the time our nights can be sacred? Does your DS not get invited to sleep anywhere else because he doesn't have mates to sleep at home? What about a tent in the garden? (my preferred option)

I don't like them because the last thing they do is sleep and it is a misery for everyone. A tent in the garden in summer is my preferred option.

I don't mind them, as long as its not every weekend, that would seriously rile me. ds was 13 on thursday and he's having one tomorrow night, although it's only him and his two best mates. Last year there was six of them stinking out my living-room

Thanks glad I'm not the only one then! Have given in for tonight and have decided to let him have 1 sensible mate sleeping round. Dh is away working so its not as if they are spoiling anything. Will sit here with my bottle of wine on my lonesome.
Have big family dinner arranged tomorrow so have reason to ask friend to leave quite early. I have got up on a weekend morning and have had 4 of them sitting on my lovely sofas, feet up on the recliners all stinky and horrible. I love my sunday mornings. Am going out tomorrow after dinner for a few drinks. That will get me through it!

I don't thin they grow out of sleepovers though, do they?

My 12yo seems to think that is OK for him and mates to bed down in the living room and be left to own devices. Since at a recent sleepover elsewhere this involved a garden escapade and all night snacking, I'm not having it. I like my neighbours! Wish people would not make rods for other parents backs...!

12 seemed to be the latest in our experience - under very tight parental supervision.

I would not be happy about my 14 and 16 year olds going on sleepovers, so I am glad it is never something we have had to deal with.

Maybe 'tight parental supervision' is the key to waning interest?!

my dss is 13 and only a few weeks ago had 3 friends over to sleep. We chuck a load of sleeping bags in the living room and leave them to it. If they stay up all night thats there problem when the other dc's go down and wake them up at 8.30am. We have never had any problems and they have always be well behved and respectful to us, almost grateful as not many parents will be the host. They don't keep us awake so I don't mind

Define a sleepover? He has friends over to stay, and goes to stay with them and we take them to the movies and feed them, but I am strict about lights out and we never have problems. last one was on Tuesday night as it was ds's birthday, and the boys (ds and friend) were in bed by 2215 and lights out by 2230. They got up at 0730 Wed am with no moaning.
