Ds1 thinks i'm lecturing him about this. I say it's unfair on other people in the house as he would probably be disturbing them from sleep - it would me! He told me he is allowed to do this when he stays at dad's house. Am i just being an old fart not wanting him to get into bad habits?!
His dad lets him get away with a lot more than i do and i'm worried that he'll choose to go and live with him full-time as soon as he can.

Good to read all your replies - thanks all. I don't feel so unreasonable now. I will try to talk to his dad about it in next mediation appointment. He wants an Xbox for his birthday so he can go on this live thing. I'd never heard of it til last week! So up with the kids. Doesn't sound like a good idea to get him started on that yet. He does get really grouchy if tired and is growing fast at the mo so needs lots of sleep.

OooooH, I've had this, see my previous thread!

Caught ds (15 in Dec) on at 2.00am. Intially was not happy at all, and found a way of blocking the nternet into his bedroom. Well not blocking it, but putting it on a timer.

This led to a huge fall-out, where he accused me of not trusting him. I pointed out that I didn't trust him, if he was going to do this. After some negotiation, block was removed, but if he starts to slip up at school or extra tired it goes back on.

However, he can sleep in, so occasionally in the holidays it would be OK. I would rather he was on there than out somewhere where I didn't know where he was........

I wouldn't allow my 14yoto be awake after 11 even in hols, only maybe if he had been watching a filmor got mates for a sleep over.

After a few late school nights of 10pm he is grumpy as hell, gets spotty and sleep walks! So 2am no chance! - an early night by force will be 9pm!
