National Insurance plastic cards

have any of you got 16yr olds who have recently received national insurance numbers? Did they get a plastic card? I think we got a letter a couple of months ago saying that he would be receiving his NI number soon, and they were confirming our address, but nothing since. he has been 16 for 6 weeks now - anyone in same position? Thanks

DS received a plastic card well ahead of his 16th birthday and promptly lost it.

He phoned up and they sent him a paper notification in the post within the week.

They weren't snotty at all about it.

You assume the left hand knows what the right hand is doing! It's probably on a missing laptop or CD somewhere
