Natural treatments for acne

DD15 took 6 months antibiotics 2 years ago go for acne. It helped but I think impacted her gut. She keeps it under control with topical creams; she takes vitamins, kefir, actimel. Everything helps to a certain extent I guess.

I wouldn’t say is too bad but it is still frustrating for her and she just wants a clear skin.

I was thinking of suggesting espirolactane but I am concerned of side effects in the middle of GCSE.

Any natural treatments that help without side effects. She doesn’t drink normal milk.

Maybe an appointment with a nutritionist?

Does Optibac help?

There is no drugs without risks

Have you tried reducing or removing sugar, dairy and gluten? What's her water intake like? I would make an appointment with a dietitian and see what they recommend. Hopefully something will help 15 is so young.

Yes, we removed dairy and improved. The sugar and gluten is more tricky though. I have mentioned this and the water but not sure if they fully understand it or are willing to commit to it at 15 and with all the stress of hormones and school.

I may do the nutritionist appointment. Don’t want to introduce more drugs and in my opinion their acne is not that bad; for her it is.

A little bit of diluted tea tree oil can help to dry them up, and a couple of drops of lavender oil (with a carrier oil) can help to calm the skin down if it’s red and inflamed. Witch hazel can calm inflammation down too. You can also make a tea with parsley leaves, and use that on your face as a natural astringent. It also calms and reduces inflammation.

My dd and son used a balm from Norse Organics. They both found it really helps. I just found cheap dupe on Amazon which seems to do the same job. It comes up.if you search for norse organics on Amazon.

I suffered with acne for half my life (mid 20s). What helped me was going to a Clinique counter in boots and having them assess my skin. Turns out my skin was dehydrated which caused more oil production, resulting in more spots. So they recommended some hydrating anti blemish products which seem to be working very well. I was in boots at the time looking for a different acne product when the Clinique worker approached me and I was pretty desperate so went along with her. Best decision

Which topical creams is she using? If it’s panoxyl or differin she probably needs a decent moisturiser. Try adding niacinamide you can use it under both those topicals, let it dry for a bit and then but the topical over it.

Thank you. She had an skin analysis and they said she has dry skin. She has a treatment for acne, plus good face wash, moisturiser and sun tan lotion. I think she keeps it under control, but she is just sick of it and doesn’t want to have acne which isn’t that symple.
