Anxious about my son driving again after his recent accident

Ok, so my son had a car accident a month ago. His fault. He was fine but wrote off his car. Is it normal for me to feel so anxious with him going out driving? He has a black box and a dashcam. He seemed to have got over this quicker than me. I do suffer with anxiety, plus im perimenopausal. I dont want him out, im so paranoid its gonna happen again. I was really anxious when he first past his test but then started to relax but then he crashed and I feel worse than I did before. Any advice please or am I just crazy 🤪

My son wrote his car off first week after passing his driving test, it was a wake up call to a typical young lad thinking he knows how to drive. He learnt from his mistake and went through the next 8 years without a bump. Next accident, coming home from a night shift, tired and not driving according to rode conditions, - another wake-up call. When it hurts their pocket with increased insurance and car repairs/new to them car purchase they adjust their driving. Hopefully he will drive like a sensible 30 year old now. Try not to worry to much, I expect he will be very careful now.

It's completely understandable to be worried.

The answer isn't to try not to be worried, it's to try to accept the worry and over time it will hopefully diminish.

The alternative is that you stop him driving - it's not a realistic option .
