Acne and the contraceptive implant

My DD has had the nexplanon implant since January. She has been struggling with worsening acne, despite antibiotics, which she was on before, and prescription treatments. She split from her boyfriend now and I suggested that after 6 months if the acne doesn't settle we can have it removed.
She is autistic, so doesn't want the pain of removal, but her self esteem is dropping due to her skin/hyperpigmented acne scars..
Where do we go from here?

Ive had 3 implants and the removal isn’t that bad. They numb your arm and it’s done pretty quickly. The first time I had one it affected my skin, once out I was back to ‘normal’ in a couple of months x
