Do you let your 15 year old play GTA 5?

Sorry I know this has been done to death. DS desperate to play, won’t shut up about it, his dad plays it. I’m generally not too strict on this stuff, he’s a pretty mature and sensible teenager, we’ve watched lots of 15+ films together before he was 15 (mostly spooky horror stuff) he does play COD which I know plenty of parents wouldn’t allow…but GTA has always felt like my limit. DH is a bit on the fence about it.

I wouldn’t allow the online mode end of story, but story mode…anyone have any direct experience of playing and how they think it compares for 15 year olds?

My DH played it, it was the torture scene that stays with me rather than anything else.

I know this probably sounds odd but I just don’t worry too much about violence, not with DS. We watch IT Derry. We can talk about it, he knows what’s real and what’s not, he’s not at all violent himself and knows what’s acceptable. I’m not really sure why the misogyny aspects of it worry me more as we can talk that through, but it just does.

It’s very different with my youngest who is much more impressionable, autistic and less mature, very sensitive, impacted by things very differently. I have been much more careful about what he’s been exposed to as he’s growing up as he just processes things differently. Just saying that to acknowledge that I do think it’s different per child.
