DS past his test last week. Took insurance out with hastings youdrive, he was only driving for 3 days and then had a threatening email saying if he dont send pictures of his car they will cancel his insurance. We sent all the pictures. Couldn't send ones including his licence as it haven't arrived yet. They won't except thats its his car and they claim the paint work is non standard. They claim we declared this on compare the market. Paint is the cars original paint as confirmed by local body shop. But they won't have it. So I've had to cancel and go with ticker which £500 more a year 😩 anyone know if ticker are any better than hastings?

Anyone is better than Hastings. They cancelled my DS policy without telling him as apparently the app wasn't tracking him driving. There's a Facebook page about them

He's now with admiral on a non tracking policy

My Ds was with ticker, they refused to reinsure him last year as he was in the middle of a claim, that’s there terms and conditions, the accident was not his fault, the other driver hit him and drove off, ticker were actually really good sorting the claim, we had the other drivers registration, they sorted it, the car was repaired and Ds got back his excess eventually.

dd got ticket insurance nearly 4 years ago and never changed it, her insurance has reduced each year and she’s never bothered to change.

the one bit of advice I would say is get dashcams, if Ds had had one at his accident it would have been sorted out so much quicker!

both dc now have them!
