Help please, I feel at a loss and there is a lot to this.
My oldest is 13 yo, she has always been a quiet kid, had a few health issues like night terrors until she was nearly 5, had abdominal migraines since she was really little which have now become head migraines too.
We had some traumatic stuff happen when she was 7 but were in safe space now and have been for 4 years(this is important as it might help) in year 5 she started getting these weird episodes where she was pale, short of breath and shaky it would take a while to go away and generally was after activity, peads assumed this was her medication for migraines so we took her off it as it was lowering her heart rate and blood pressure however they still happened. Year 6 we noticed some academic struggles and got tested for dyslexia which came back high probability, in year 7 she became very quiet, scared, the migraines got worse and we went back on medication, her appetite decreased but not to badly, she was put forward for ADHD/ASD assessment but NHS refused saying she shows more symptoms at school than at home. Now in year 8 she has been picked up by school nurse team because i kept having to call the school to see if my daughter had eaten, or taking in her lunch because she refused to take it. Loads was put in place to help her with confidence in school and ease the anxiety there which has helped massively however school nurse weighed her and she dropped a percentile line but hadn't actually lost weight just not gained enough, then suddenly she dropped from 36.8kg to 34.6kg, I managed to get her back to 35.8kg but this is still very concerning because the medication she is on causes weight gain. She also gets a lot of dizziness, near passing out, always feels sick, always feels cold, is always pale. We are booked in for blood tests but this has me so stressed out and worried. Has anyone else's teenagers been through this please, emotionally she seems happy, she still enjoys her activities of art, gaming, being creative, but has become quiet isolated but she has never been a people person. She seems highly sensitive to everything, changes, noise, foods, smells, the way things feel etc. I just feel so lost and scared especially after the appointment with peads yesterday who seemed highly concerned as her BMI places her just inside the healthy weight but way to close to being underweight which she has always been on the smaller side. I know I'm doing the right things of trying to get as many calories into her as I can without pressure, working with the school, school nurse and peads doctor etc but I also feel like I'm failing her. My other 2 who are 10 and 4 love food, they eat really well (4 year old is a nibbler but still eats well) and both are a very healthy weight.
