Boots.

Or she can ring NHS direct and ask for the nearest open chemist.

She should be aware that it's about £25!

brimfull · 26/05/2008 11:58

can she buy over the counter?

even on bank holiday?

If you can't find a chemist open A&E is the best option or a walk in centre.

here is more info.

Phone your out of hours doctors service, they can advise as to best plan of action. My one has a sexual health clinic as part of set up for just such occasions, and age should not make a difference I would have thought.

MegBusset · 26/05/2008 12:11

It depends on the area, apparently most PCTs have authorised chemists to dispense the MAP to under-16s but not all.

Brook are a very good source of advice and info for under-25s.

SmugColditz · 26/05/2008 12:39

Very important that she gets hold of it asap as it's not as efficient after 24 hours.

brimfull · 26/05/2008 12:42

thanks all

she phoned nhs direct and they've directed her to a pharmacy where she can get it for free

she is trying to get the boy to drive her there as it's about 20 miles away

OP posts:
SmugColditz · 26/05/2008 12:45

he bloody well should drive her there.

A good line is

"YOu spend the petrol and drive me there, or in 9 months you can start coughing up 15% of your salary for the next 19 years. Your choice."

SmugColditz · 26/05/2008 12:45

Good that she can get it for free too.

SparklyGothKat · 26/05/2008 12:45

tesco.

Ulysees · 26/05/2008 12:46

agree with smugcolditz he bloody well should drive her there

brimfull · 26/05/2008 12:48

yes

if he answers his damn phone

I said she should call his parents and tell them she needs a lift.

OP posts:
SmugColditz · 26/05/2008 12:49

yes, that would be a good plan. call his parents. Or call one of his friends and inform them of her intention to call his parents.

In an emergency, could you take her? Not ideal, but she really needs that pill!

brimfull · 26/05/2008 12:52

i could but hopefully won't have to

Ulysees · 27/05/2008 12:47
