Stepchild recording conversations to report to mum

Anyone had any experience of this? My stepdaughter (15) recorded me telling off her sister (11) for lying so she could report back to mum. I’ve been in their lives for 5 years and thought we had a great relationship. When I first met their dad I checked with mum how she wanted me to deal with poor behaviour and we agreed I was ok to reprimand as needed.

I feel violated as I’m now being told they feel unwelcome and in the way. I think of them both as my daughters and thought I treated them as such.

i’m struggling to feel comfortable with them staying again as I don’t think I can trust her not to report back everything I say and do when they’re with us.

What does their dad plan to do about it?

He’s talking to their mum today. My concern is that my feelings won’t get taken into account.

Hate to say this but they probably feel unsafe. Maybe its mum stirring shit as well.

Oh hell. That’s even worse! I hate to think that they don’t feel safe with us…
