13 yo DD fainting each time she has a period

My DD (13 yo) has fainted once in each of the last 2 periods she has had.

Plan is to call the DR on Monday and I suspect they will probably order a blood test.

Has anyone experienced anything like this with their teens? My gut feeling is maybe low iron. She had eaten fairly recently each time it happened so I don't think it could be low blood sugar, but not ruling anything out

I had this a few times as a teen myself. It was because the tummy pain was incredibly painful. I went to drs who said if it continued then I'd have to be put on the pill. Mother wasn't very happy about it but it stopped.

I had this when I was a teenager because, as a pp has said, the pain was so intense. It was worse if I needed a poo, would ramp up to unbearable levels. It only became manageable when I went on the pill but this was a long time ago and there should be better solutions today.

There's a few things that caused me to feel like I could pass out on my period. Pain, low iron and low blood sugars. It could be any of those, so I would go in to treat them all as well as a trip to the GP. I take liquid iron supplements by Spatone every day, regular paracetamol and ibuprofen (I actually have Naproxen as I have ridiculously painful periods) and eat at regular intervals.

I used to experience this all the time with my periods as a teen. It was a vasovagal response to the intensely painful cramps etc.

My teen has similar due to the pain. She went on the pill which reduced frequency of periods but not the pain when they did come, now trying a coil.

I had this as a teenager. Worth checking for anaemia but I just fainted a lot and still do.

It was the pain and I still faint now if in severe pain.

The pill helped a lot. Would have been even better if I'd known I didn't actually need the stupid pill free break.
